Today’s class has a guest teacher/speaker Rich McCue. We had a presentation and class discussion on creating digital resources, through video editing, screen capturing and interactive videos! Each of these resources are super important in their own ways for teaching to all grades K-12 +.
The main digital resource that we explored today was screen capturing! This was the first attempt/example video explaining a math games website resource called Math Playground. In my video, we explored as a “class” our grade 3 math games that target our addition algorithms we have been learning in class. We have been exploring math blocks, estimation, and more! This is a great game to introduce children into math games with a “timed” aspect. Although “timed” games aren’t totally useful, this game is a good option for those students more interested in a more competitive option! Below is my H5P tutorial, enjoy!
I loved learning about these resources, especially going over all the different possible digital videos and websites already created on the internet for students and teachers to use! Crash Course was one of the resources mentioned! I personally have used crash courses for different classes in high school, as well as last-minute studying options! I have linked the main Crash Course website below, for those interested in checking it out!
