My initial reflection on Technology and Innovation in Education was that this course possesses a lot of significance towards younger children’s outlooks and key skills for developing an understanding of technology uses in the classroom. I was originally nervous coming into this week not knowing too much of an understanding, other than the basics of technology use, especially with a bit of a difficult time starting up this portfolio website. However, with alternative help, such as the step by step instructions, and extra helpful sources, there is an easy answer for technology.
This portfolio has boosted my excitement for this class and the projects it holds, as it is an easy way of creating skills in developing and understanding technology, but it also allows me to look forward to sharing my passionate interest.
Since moving to the island one year ago, I have had some difficulties finding something new I look forward to doing daily, if not weekly. I had explored as much as I felt I could last year, as my bus was my transit. however, it wasn’t until this year that, that I brought my car back with me, that I felt I could truly start exploring different areas of Victoria and the island. Every day since arriving at the beginning of September, I have made it a goal of my day to go on one small walk or hike, to take in nature as best as I can. So far it has mainly been coming to and from school, or around the neighbourhood. I find that walking is the best way to take in a moment of new surroundings and to best enjoy them. My plan for this portfolio is to share and document the different walks/hikes that I enjoy in the area. Along with some thoughts, pictures, and whatever else comes to mind!
Hope you enjoy my passion project of exploring Victoria’s nature and lands!
